Macclesfield Poker League Rules
- The League formed under these rules shall be known as the MACCLESFIELD POKER LEAGUE.
- All Matches will be played on Tuesday Evenings on a Home & Away basis.
- The Executive Committee's decision is binding and final in all matters.
- The Executive Committee shall have the power to deal with any contingency that may arise, which the following rules do not cover.
- All correspondence relating to the League should be sent to the Chairman/ General Secretary, Mr Malc Pritchard c/o Broken Cross Club, Fallibroome Road, Broken Cross Macclesfield SK11 8TU Phone 01625 263087/431167.
- The League will be run on a team and individual basis. Each team will consist of six players, playing for team and individual points as follows 1st 8 points 2nd 6 points 3rd 4 points 4th 3 points 5th 2 points 6th 1 point.
- Each league match shall comprise of 6 players on each team, playing on two tables until 6 are eliminated and a final 6 merge on one table for the points. The team points will be the total of the individual scores for each team member.
- Results, fixtures, team and individual league positions and all other news items will be published weekly on our website and be available each Monday night.
- A trophy and prizes will be awarded to Team League winners & runner-up.
- The winner of the individual league will win an all expenses trip for two to LAS VEGAS. In the event of a tie, the person with most appearances, then most 1st or 2nd places and so on will be deemed the winner.
REGISTRATIONS. - Entrance fee to the League is £5 per player.
- Each team to pay £20 per month at league meetings. [ To be held Monthly on Sunday mornings at Broken Cross Club]
- Ten points will be deducted from any team not sending a representative to the league meeting.
- A fee of £5.00 is payable by the player requiring registration and is eligible to play, upon the General Secretary receiving the registration & fee 24hrs prior to the match being played. ** NO PLAYER REGISTRATION FORMS CAN BE ACCEPTED UNLESS ACCOMPANIED BY THE CORRECT FEE.
- It shall be deemed an offence for a player to SIGN, REGISTER OR PLAY under an assumed name or attempt to do so whatsoever.
- A player may transfer from one team to another subject to the Executive Committee's approval and provided the said player hasn’t played for their original signed on team.
- Player’s signature can be requested to be checked if in dispute by putting "PLEASE CHECK SIGNATURE" of said player in the remarks column of the match sheet.
- The League will accept registrations for players who are 18 years of age or over.
- League matches will be played on dates stipulated. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL LEAGUE MATCHES BE ALLOWED TO BE CANCELLED. Matches to commence no later than 8.30. The Committee and the League are NOT responsible for any cost incurred for transport, etc. in respect of matches claimed due to cancellations or non turn-out of teams. In the event of cancellation or non-turnout the weekly subs will still be required and the opposing team awarded 16 points. The members of the team will then play for their individual scores.
- A team short on players for the night can play their match providing the tables are equally balanced at the start of the game. Points will be awarded to the last 6 as normal. Any team fielding less than 6 players on more than 3 occasions will be fined.
- Absent players (players expecting to turn up late) can have their blinds put in for them until the first blind raise. Once the first blind raise has passed, all chips being played for absent players are forfeited. Someone on the table should put the chips in for the absent player when the absent player is to post the blinds. Play continues as normal. When it is the absent player's turn to bet/check, their hand should be folded. No-one should look at or play the absent player's hand.
- Toilet breaks or visits to the bar can easily be accommodated. The player leaving the table is dealt in to each hand and immediately folded if they have not returned by the time it is their turn to play. Someone at the table should post the blinds for the absent player. No-one should look at or play the absent player's hand.
- Any teams wishing to make a protest must make a deposit of £5. Should the protestant have the decision in their favour the deposit will be refunded. If the protest is lost then the £5 will be donated to league funds. All protests to be sent to the General Secretary within 7 days of the matter under protest. NO PROTEST WILL BE HEARD UNLESS ACCOMPANIED WITH THE APPROPRIATE FEE.
- It is the duty of each captain to keep a record of individual player and team scores and to keep track of the published league tables and should they not tally with the figures of their club, the General Secretary should be contacted immediately and not left for several weeks. This ensures a true publication.
- The captains of the two teams shall be in charge of the league matches and be responsible for the completing the match sheet to record the order of winners.
- Any team failing to complete the season will have points deducted from the results & excluded from all other competitions and barred from the league for one year. No subscriptions or registration fees will be refunded.
THE GAME No Limit Texas Hold’em. Each level will last for 15 minutes. All players will start with 3400 in chips. Each starting stack must consist of at least 4 25 chips 6 50 chips 10 100 chips and 4 500 chips. Once a player has lost all of their chips they are out of the tournament.
